This blog post is part of a series all about my recent long weekend away to Aberystwyth. I want to talk about the three walks we did individually, plus write a review of the holiday cottage we stayed in, so all of the posts will be spread out across the next few weeks.
I’ll start at the beginning with Aberystwyth. After a lazy Saturday morning we went to explore the town and the beaches.
We found a parking space near to the marina and walked across the bridge and into town. We quickly meandered through the shops (stopping at the Animal store) and down to sea front. At the pier we took a right along the front, heading towards the Cliff Railway.
It’s a pretty view but the beach is a little muddy. Luckily I had my walking boots on so it didn’t bother me and Guinness, Ash on the other hand kept to the pavement in his trainers.
We opted not to walk up to the top of the cliff and instead turned around and walked back along the front to Aberystwyth Castle.
After another mooch through the town and a coffee in the lovely castle grounds looking out to sea, we headed further along the beach toward the harbour.
On this side of the castle is a lovely clean pebble beach and because it was out of season dogs were allowed on, which Guinness seemed rather pleased with!
With a soggy, tired dog we wandered past the harbour and went back to our cute cottage to watch the rugby final.
